RARE ET IMPORTANTE TETE DE BOUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI EN SCHISTE GRIS
REGION DU GANDHARA, IIEME-IIIEME SIECLE
The head is finely sculpted with a section of his neck showing some remnants of his garment. His serene facial expression displays heavy lidded downcast eyes below arched eyebrows. An incised cavity for inserted urna emblem is adorning his forehead. His meticulous carved lips show a faint smile and his earlobes are extended. His hairdo and ushnisha are coiffed with a wavy pattern.
