the hood with brass-capped swan-neck pediment centred by a displayed eagle resting on an orb, outset fluted columns, wavy border to the door, the trunk with satinwood line inlay and chamfered sides, on block plinth with conforming inlay, the white-painted dial with rocking ship to the arch (some repainting), floral spandrels, Arabic chapter ring with subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture, signed W.H. Harrison Chepstow, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement and falseplate stamped WALKER -- 86in.(219cm.) high
