AN EMERALD, RUBY AND DIAMOND INSET NECKLACE
NORTH INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
Centred on a large drilled emerald bead flanked by circular diamond-set gold beads separated by spiked granular elements, five large oval pendants hanging below, the central pendant set with later paste flanked by emeralds and rubies on either side, each pendant with a string of freshwater pearls and another gemstone below, either side of the pendant with further strings of freshwater pearls punctuated with turquoise enamel beads, long strings of freshwater pearls at either end followed by a silk and metal thread sting with tassel terminals
