Lot Essay

The present marble can be attributed to Sicilian sculptor, Nunzio Morello, on the basis of a comparison to a similar bronze group signed by the artist and sold Artcurial, Briest, Poulain, F. Tajan, Paris, 26 March 2014, lot 147. The inscription identifies it as a gift from the sculptor to his niece Nunzio Morello.
