A RARE WUCAI BOWL
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The bowl with deep rounded sides is well enamelled with Shoulao riding on a deer followed by four attendants carrying parcels and bearing a fan, all between a band of lingzhi sprays below the mouth rim and scrolling motif above the foot. The interior is decorated with a central roundel containing a fierce dragon below the Eight Buddhist Emblems.
