A WUCAI VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The vase with a slightly splayed foot is colourfully painted to both sides of the baluster body in tones of red, green, aubergine, yellow and underglaze blue depicting delightful floral scenes. One side is decorated with a shaped panel enclosing an outcrop of floral sprays and rocks, the other with two birds flying amidst elaborately decorated flowers including peonies and and lily.
