A WHITE JADE 'HORSE AND MONKEY' CARVING AND A PALE CELADON JADE BELT HOOK
18TH CENTURY
The horse is carved in a recumbent position with its head turned sharply around to face a monkey clambering upon its back. The stone is of an even milky white tone. The belt hook is carved with a chilong crawling along the shaft, facing a dragon head terminal and the reverse has a raised oval attachment. The stone is of a pale even tone.
The largest, 5 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) long
