EDO PERIOD, LATE 17TH CENTURY
The underglaze blue with two kidney-shaped panels depicting landscapes and the panels in shape of tanzaku [poem slips] with weeping cherry, wisteria, grapes and squirrels, against a dark blue ground with chrysanthemums and foliage, the foot and neck rim with bands of flowerheads and scrolling foliage
