With rebrowned 25 ¼ in. (64 cm.) twist black powder only sighted barrels, treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, retaining traces of original case-hardened finish and engraved 'CHARGE 8 TO 10 DRAMS LENGTH OF CASE 3 ¼ INCHES', bolted back-action locks, border engraved throughout, figured 14 in. pistolgrip stock including rubber butt-pad, weight 15 lbs. 15 oz., in original makers brass-cornered oak and leather fitted case, with some accessories including an H. Holland 8-bore ball mould
Provenance
The makers have kindly confirmed that this rifle was completed in 1881 for a Mr. Houghton.
