A PALE MOTTLED GREY JADE 'CHILONG' CUP
SONG-MING DYNASTY ( 960-1279)
The cup is carved and pierced with the handle formed as a muscular chilong grasping the rim, its bifurcated tail trailing to one side, a smaller chilong further along the rim. The stone is of a mottled grey tone with striations and flecks.
