A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF TWO LIONS
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The group is carved in the round following the shape of the pebble with a Buddhist lion and its cub, each with curly mane and finely incised tufted tail, and the adult with the ribbon of the brocade ball in its jaws. The stone is of pale white tone with some opaque white inclusions and russet skin remaining.
