FIRST EDITION. The predecessor of Cavalieri in the chair of mathematics at Bologna, Magini was a lens maker of the highest ability. This short but important work appeared in French (Paris 1620), and was also reprinted at Bologna, 1628. Honeyman 642 (2nd work); Riccardi I(ii) 69.
