TIPPING & LAWDEN, BIRMINGHAM, SERIAL NO. 5827, CIRCA 1862
With blued barrel-block, nickel-plated brass frame, hammer with rotating nose, gutta percha grips, and retaining much original finish throughout, Birmingham proof marks, in original mahogany case lined with blue baize, the lid with trade label of Richard Burnand of Newcastle on Tyne, the exterior with burr veneer and shield-shaped escutcheon
2 ¾ in. (7 cm.) black powder only barrel-block.
