Lot Essay

Eberlein's work records for December 1743 record: Einen Jäger, wie seine Büchße laden thut, auch die Jagd-Tasche mit Rephühnern auf dem Rücken hat, und einen Hund neben sich, in thon verfertiget and Ein Frauenzimmer in Jagd-Habit, mit der Büchße im Arm angelegt, indicating the figures were conceived as a pair. Kändler's work records for October 1744 and March 1745, suggesting that he may have made some slight alterations to these models or similar models in those years.
