A RARE CARVED RED TIXI LACQUER LOBED DISH
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
The shallow, five-lobed dish is deeply carved on the interior through layers of red and black lacquer with bands of ruyi scrolls radiating from a central quatrefoil flower head, the exterior is similarly decorated and the base is lacquered black.
