A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE BIXIE
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The beast is delicately carved in the form of a bixie sitting on its hind legs with its head slightly turned to one side. Its head is well-defined with bulging eyes and curly mane. The body is finely carved with ruyi-shaped wings, showing nodules of the spine and curled bushy bifurcated tail. The stone is of a creamy white tone with some russet inclusions and cloudy white inclusions.
