AN INSCRIBED FAMILLE ROSE 'FIGURAL' PLAQUE

The plaque is painted with a bearded scholar holding a staff, beside a long poetic inscription which describes the spring scene, followed by the signature of Wang Qi and two red seals, reading Xichang Wang Qi (Wang Qi of Xichang) and tao mi (lover of ceramics) respectively.
The porcelain 12 ½ x 21 ¼ in. (32 x 54 cm.)
Provenance
Private European collection, acquired in Canada in 1958, then by descent within the family.
