Lot Essay

Offered in original condition with crisp hallmark to the band, the present timepiece is one of the 250 pieces produced in pink gold. Reference 1593 was launched in 1944 and was available until around 1967. It is also known among collectors as the "hour glass" model due to its streamlined form with its concave and curved sides.

The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pages 128, 129 & 141, and in Patek Philippe Museum - Patek Philippe - Volume II, p. 218.
