Lot Essay

Presentational album as given to members of the U.S. All-Star Tour of Japan. Album was presented to tour members with content relating to the trip and reads right to left per Japanese custom. The offered example is missing its original leather cover (often found this way due to fragility of covers) and also missing two interior pages which displayed team autographed sheets for both the American and Japanese teams. Remainder of the book contains a total of (22) original images taken during the Tour. Each photo measures 9"x11" and is mounted on cabinet mount stock album pages. Subjects include Ruth, Gehrig, Mack, U.S./Japanese teams, stadium views and Ocean liner views. Ruth waving flag image has corner chip to its mount (not photo) and some general edge wear to the album mount pages themselves. Balance of the photos remain very clean. One of only a small population of these highly sought after albums from a legendary tour in baseball history: Range VG-EX
