The eternal fascination of the Pan myth is also present in Zsolnay's Art Nouveau production. Around 1900, the factory produced a series of vases evoking the god Pan. This vase, which may be attributed to Sandor Apati Abt, exists in a later eosin green version. It probably depicts Pan pursuing the nymph Syrinx, followed by her sisters who, to protect her from the satyr, transform her into a reed. In turn, Pan transforms these reeds he embraced into a flute, thinking he might catch the nymph. He names his flute Syrinx. Another vase attributed to Sandor Apati Abt, with a similar dynamic and decoration, presented as an exhibition piece by the manufactory, depicts a hunting scene in which Pan, who was also god of hunters, can be recognized. The same theme is present on a 1900 Manufacture vase attributed to Lajos Mack, depicting Pan and presumably Syrinx surrounded by reeds.
