Nous trouvons cette forme récurrente de la manufacture tout au long de son existence, support de nombreux décors, et des tailles variables. Elle est parfois attribuée à Vilmos Zsolnay.
Le décor de cet exemplaire fait partie des décors dits nabis présents sur différents vases et objets de la manufacture autour de 1900 exécutés notamment par Julia Zsolnay, par Sandor Apati Apt Lajos Mack et le peintre Joseph Rippl Ronay. Ce décor nocturne de bord d’eau, qui existe sur un cache pot identique mais dans une lumière d’aube (collection Gyugy), évoque probablement le Jardin des Héspérides avec ses pommes d’or. On trouve sur plusieurs vases datés entre 1898 et 1900, communément attribués à Julia Zsolnay, ce même décor où on distingue clairement les trois Héspérides gardant l’arbre. Ces décors sont à rapprocher aussi d’un pichet de 1899 attribué à Sandor Apati Abt où le même arbre est présent. Une partie des vases de cette époque sont souvent très narratifs évoquant des sujets littéraires ou fantastiques ou encore l’Antiquité.

We find this shape recurring throughout the factory's existence, with many different designs and sizes. It is sometimes attributed to Vilmos Zsolnay.
The design on this example is one of the so-called Nabis decors found on various vases and objects produced by the factory around 1900, notably by Julia Zsolnay, Sandor Apati Apt Lajos Mack and painter Joseph Rippl Ronay. This nocturnal waterside decoration, which also appears on an identical pot cover but in dawn light (Gyugy collection), probably evokes the Garden of the Hesperides with its golden apples. Several vases dated between 1898 and 1900, commonly attributed to Julia Zsolnay, feature the same decoration, with the three Hesperides guarding the tree. These decorations can also be compared with an 1899 pitcher attributed to Sandor Apati Abt, featuring the same tree.
A number of vases from this period are often highly narrative, evoking literary or fanciful subjects which also evoke antiquity.
