Lot Essay

The roots of the tree reach down deep to portray the continuation and inheritance of life, whilst bamboo’s flexibility signifies adaptability and wisdom. Taken from the ground, minerals and soil are shaped by human hand and fired into ceramics – juxtaposed against industrial materials, the piece enters a profound dialogue between human creativity and organic elements.

‘Rising’ envisions the ideal connection between the city and nature, where mutual prosperity can be achieved through balance. Structure and order does not exist in opposition to the freedom and creativity of the wild. Instead, this is the continuum where all comes together in harmony.
