One of the most breathtakingly attractive and technically exceptional Royal Oaks, this 41mm. platinum Extra-Thin Tourbillon reference 26516PT.ZZ.1220PT.01 features a bezel set with 32 specially shaped baguette-cut diamonds with a total weight of 3.04 carats. Made only in very small numbers, it is one of the most exclusive and rarely seen Royal Oaks and is now discontinued. To the best of our knowledge, no other examples of this reference have been offered at auction, the present watch presents collectors with the very rare opportunity to acquire one of AP’s most outstanding and elusive Royal Oaks.
Understated, yet at the same time dazzlingly glamourous, the Extra-Thin Tourbillon is one of the very few Royal Oaks to have a hand-wound rather than automatic movement. This model is remarkably only 0.75 mm thicker than the time and date-only Royal Oak Extra-Thin, an extraordinary achievement in watchmaking. Equally impressive is the super-heavy platinum Royal Oak bracelet that is also exquisitely finished with both brushed and polished surfaces. For this amazing tourbillon, Audemars Piguet’s signature dial design ‘petite tapisserie’ is a sublime grey ‘fumé’ colour that has a perfectly toned and graduated effect.
The hand-wound movement is the highly impressive Audemars Piguet caliber 2924, providing a power reserve of 70 hours from fully wound, a power reserve indication is placed on the back of the movement which is visible through the sapphire crystal display back. The ultra-thin tourbillon cage visible through the dial has a rotation speed of 60 seconds.
