Lot Essay

This console’s design, featuring circular arches and arrow motifs, bears a resemblance to the radiating sun motif and the numerous triangular windows that line each arch at the top of the Chrysler Building, an iconic Art Deco structure built in New York between 1928 and 1930 by architect William Van Alen.
