Lot Essay

Inscribed by key A.A. founding members Bill Wilson, Dr. Bob, Bill Dotson and Ebby Thacher.

This copy belonged to an early A.A. member in Windsor, Ontario. He has his copy inscribed by A.A. co-founders Bill (“Congratulations and happy [?birthday] – Bill Wilson” and Dr. Bob (“Best of continued success in A.A. Dr. Bob”) on 18 January 1948. It was later signed by A.A. member #3 Bill Dotson (“With memories of a pleasant trip to Windsor. Bill Dotson”) on 4 March 1950. A page has been tipped onto the lower pastedown with messages to the owner from other members at the 5th Western Ontario Conference of 1958, including Ebby Thacher who Bill Wllson credited with starting him on the path to sobriety, years before the founding of A.A.
