Introduced in October 2006 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus collection, reference 5712 perfectly embodies the timeless design and distinctive character of Patek Philippe’s celebrated luxury sports watch. It succeeded the short-lived reference 3712, the first complicated Nautilus, which was produced for only approximately one year between 2005 and 2006.
The reference 5712/1R presents the model in an exceptionally luxurious configuration, with both its case and integrated bracelet crafted entirely in 18k pink gold. Its rich brown sunburst dial, graduating towards a darker border, beautifully complements the warm tone of the case and bracelet. The characteristic asymmetric arrangement of the indications, unique within the Nautilus family to references 3712 and 5712, gives the model an immediately recognisable appearance. The dial combines the date and moon phases with subsidiary seconds and a power-reserve indication, while preserving the distinctive horizontal embossing associated with the Nautilus.
The iconic case alternates satin-brushed surfaces with polished details, accentuating the architecture originally conceived by Gérald Genta. At its heart is the ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 PS IRM C LU, whose micro-rotor construction allows the watch to retain the elegant proportions characteristic of the Nautilus. Completing the ensemble is the integrated pink gold bracelet, fitted with Patek Philippe’s patented fold-over clasp with lockable adjustment system.
