Lot Essay

Piaget has long been celebrated for its ability to unite watchmaking with exceptional jewelry craftsmanship, and its distinctive Dual Time creations perfectly embody this philosophy. Conceived for the sophisticated traveller, these unusual watches allow two different time zones to be displayed simultaneously while retaining the elegance and refinement characteristic of Piaget's most elaborate jewellery watches.

The present Dual Time reference 692120 A 57, crafted in 18k white gold, is a particularly striking example. Its case and integrated bracelet are intricately hand-engraved with a rich, swirling motif, demonstrating Piaget's remarkable mastery of decorative goldwork. The rectangular case incorporates two independent black dials, each displaying its own time with Roman and baton numerals and elegant dauphine hands. The symmetry of the two displays contrasts beautifully with the elaborate texture of the surrounding white gold.

The watch is powered by two manual-winding Piaget calibre 6P1 movements, allowing each dial to function independently. Two crowns enable the wearer to set the respective time zones separately, while a black cabochon provides an elegant contrast against the white gold case. The richly engraved bracelet flows seamlessly from the case, transforming the entire watch into a highly sculptural piece of jewelry.
