A pair of Shibayama tusk vases inlaid in mother of pearl, wood horn and stained ivory, one with a bird perched on a garden lantern amongst further birds in flight before blossoming trees and peonies, the reverse with a kingfisher about to take flight above a river, the other similarly decorated with an eagle about to catch a small bird in a flower strewn garden and a further kingfisher perched on a branch with a fish in its mouth -- the tusks 11¾in. (29.5cm) high, wood stands. (2)
