A large Japanese ivory model of a standing warrior wearing an elaborate helmet with karashishi finial and further shishi panels, dressed in full armour and knee length breeches, carrying a quiver of arrows to one side, a tanto tied around his belt, another sword slung at his side, holding a bow in his left hand, his right hand raised above his forehead, his robes carved with scattered mon, flowerheads and insects among kiku heads, the eyes inlaid in horn, set into a gold lacquered rectangular stand on four scrolling feet decorated in hiramakie with bands of bamboo sprays and scrolling foliage below a border of key frets -- the figure 25in. (63.5cm) high, signed Oite Fushin kore kin (presented) to Nobu (Made in Fushin Nobu), the stand 21in. (53.4cm) wide and 9½in. (24.1cm) high, (slight damages).
