the case with brass handle to the breakarch top, arched fishscale sound-frets to the sides, on brass bracket feet, the white-painted dial (re-painted and chipped) bearing the signature Jno. Brice Islington and with strike/silent adjustment in the arch, steel hands, the twin wire fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, pull trip repeat, with foliate engraved backplate; case early 19th century, movement and dial adapted and associated -- 15¾in.
