An ebonised striking bracket clock
the case with brass handle to the bell top and pineapple finials to the angles, arched glazed panels to the sides and fret carved quarter spandrels to the front door, on moulded base and bracket feet, the brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, foliate engraving to the matted centre with ringed winding holes and date aperture, with silvered plaque to the arch signed John Rooke London between spandrels modelled as cherubs holding flaming torches and below a mock pendulum aperture, the twin wire fusee movement now with anchor escapement and strike on bell, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls, lacking securing brackets, parts 18th century, later dial, associated -- 18½in. (47cm.) high
