A globular koro and pierced domed cover with figural finial, elephant head handles and two sectioned tripod base, the koro painted and gilt with a shaped panel depicting the Death of Buddha, the reverse with Kannon and rakan, all on a dense foliate ground, the cover andr base with precious objects, Buddhistic lions and hares amongst foaming waves -- 16¾in. (17cm.) high overall, signed, (upper section of base broken and restuck, finial with head broken and restuck, hand missing.)
