The case with breakarch top centred by a anthemion carved finial, brass handles to the sides above glazed panels, chamfered front angles, on acanthus carved front feet, the silvered Roman dial signed RITCHIE & SON EDINBURGH, steel moon hands, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, with pendulum holdfast for the the pendulum with wooden rod
