The hood with stepped and moulded top with marquetry panel to the cornice, plain columns and glazed side panels, the trunk door with moulded border and marquetry reserves of birds amidst flowers, with lenticle glass, panel of floral marquetry to the plinth, the 10½in. (27cm.) square brass dial with gilt cherub mask and foliate scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with engraving to each side, the matted centre with ringed winding holes and date aperture, engraved rosette to the centre, subsidiary silvered seconds ring, the five ringed pillar movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike; restorations, replacements to veneers
