An early Victorian ebonised and cut brass inlaid striking bracket clock, circa 1840
The case with fluted moulding to the stepped top with bronze pineapple finial, stylised sound frets to the sides below ring handles, with brass strips to the chamfered front angles, fielded brass-lined panels to the front, with ripple moulded border to the rectangular base on ball feet, white painted Roman dial, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, pendulum holdfast to the backplate signed James McCabe Royal Exchange London, case stamped 2163 to inside of rear door -- 20½in. (52cm.) high
