A ship's binnacle compass constructed in oak and brass, the 8in. (20cm.) dia compass card stamped J.C. Krohn & Sons, Bergen, Norge, housed under a brass hood with plaque stamped Canadian Pacific, MV 'Beaverfir', 1961, lantern mounting to right hand side (lamp missing), red and green painted brass wings supporting 'Kelvin' balls, the oak body with front-mounted Clinometer baring the same makers name with access hatch to right for electric light swich (defunct) and magnetic rod holder, the lower rear with two further hatches, the left containing magnetic rod storage, the right with further storage and winch chain to rod basket, rear mounted aluminium map tube, the whole mounted on square plinth with brass bolts for deck attachment -- 55in. (140cm.) in height
