The case with pierced arcading above glazed D-ended panels, detachable baseplate on six bun feet, the later dial with applied Roman and Arabic chapter ring with blued steel hands and central alarm disc, the movement with three steel baluster pillars, chain fusee for the going, resting barrel for the alarm, pull quarter repeat on two bells secured to the top plate, the backplate signed ANTON ENGELBRECH GRULICH, footed balance cock to verge escapement; basically early 19th century -- 5¼in. (13cm.) wide
