A 16-Bore Silver-Mounted Flintlock Sporting Gun

With browned twist sighted two-stage barrel, the breech section octagonal then polygonal, engraved case-hardened patent breech with two gold lines, platinum-lined touch-hole, engraved tang, signed engraved case-hardened flat bevelled lock with roller, semi-rainproof pan, and stepped tail, figured walnut half-stock (small chip below grip), chequered grip and fore-end, silver mounts including engraved scrolled trigger-guard (adapted, two screws missing) with acorn finial, and butt-plate engraved with a dog and two birds in flight, silver rear ramrod-pipe, barrel-bolt escutcheons, and escutcheon, the last engraved with initials 'JG', horn fore-end cap, original brass-tipped ramrod, and traces of original finish, Birmingham proof marks
