A 14-Bore Flintlock Sporting Gun

With rebrowned twist sighted barrel fitted with later competition sights, the breech section octagonal then polygonal, case-hardened patent breech with gold line and gold-lined maker's mark, gold-lined touch-hole, tang engraved with a martial trophy, signed engraved flat case-hardened lock with roller and rainproof pan, the steel with safety vent, figured walnut half-stock (butt extended), chequered grip, engraved blued iron trigger-guard and rear ramrod-pipe, silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end cap, and brass-mounted ramrod with worm, London proof marks
34 1/8in. (86.6cm.) barrel
This gun has been restocked with a modern butt-plate, probably at the beginning of this century
