With swamped octagonal sighted barrel cut with seven grooves, plain tang, flat lock with exposed wheel and chiselled foliate retaining bracket and pan-cover finial, moulded walnut full stock carved in relief with scrolls on the fore-stock and with foliage on the butt, the cheek-piece inlaid with a white staghorn plaque engraved with a running stag in a landscape above an oblong panel engraved with berries and foliage, iron mounts, indendented iron trigger-guard, flat butt-plate with long tang, patch-box cover overlaid with white staghorn carved in relief with a sportsman with his wheel-lock rifle and his dog, a stag, and a hind, all in a landscape, turned iron ramrod-pipes, set trigger, iron sling swivel, carved white staghorn fore-end cap, engraved white staghorn side-nail washers, and original horn-tipped ramrod
