Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover centred with an oval lapis-lazuli panel mounted à jour and applied with a malachite cameo carved with Hebe and the Eagle, on a gold ground of slightly domed radiating frosted panels stamped with floral and foliate motifs divided by concave burnished gold stripes, with polished bombé sides, the base with engine-turned central panel surrounded by a broad frosted gold border stamped and engraved with scrolling foliage

The Genevan jeweller André Magnin struck his mark in 1815 and died in 1830. He was succeeded by his widow and his son.
