Cushion-shaped box of flattened oval section, with slightly domed sides, the cover and base engine-turned with a scalework pattern, the sides dye-stamped with vases of flowers, acorn and foliage on a frosted ground, the cover centred with a shield-shaped escutcheon and set with a slightly raised engraved thumbpiece; and a pair of steel scissors and a steel earpick with gold handles
