The blade hirazukuri, iorimune, slight sakizori, forging pattern masame with itame, tempered edge gunome midare of konie with sunagashi, possibly Yakinaoshi, slight curved tang ubu with two holes, 14.1/8in. (35.8cm.); in a tsui-u lacquer scabbard decorated with scrolling floral designs and Chinese characters, the kashira with two karashishi biting each other in shakudo, copper and gold, the menuki with two kara-shishi in shakudo and gilt, the shakudo fuchi with a peacock in gilt and shakudo zogan, signed Tsuki Mitsuoki and dated Kyowa Ni Mizunoe-inu Go gatsu (May, 1802), the kawari gata shibuichi tsuba with Chinese characters and a dragon in gilt and shakudo zogan, signed oite Toto Joyo Suifu ju ga Ryudo Katsushige ...kore and dated Bunka Juichi nen Inu (1814), the shakudo nanakoji plate kozuka with a peacock in gilt, the shibuichi kurikata with a bee in copper inlay, the silver kojiri with a flower and foliage in gilt, copper and shakudo hirazogan
