The blade hirazukuri with bohi to both sides, sakizori, forging pattern mokume, tempered edge suguha of konie and nioi, komaru boshi, tang ubu, file marks sujikai, 14¾in. (37.5cm.); in a roiro lacquer scabbard with a gold cockerel kanamono, oval shibuichi Hamano school tsuba decorated with a South Sea Islander presenting two tama to a seated, armoured warrior in gilt, copper and shakudo zogan and kebori, shibuichi fuchi-kashira with a torii, pine in the rain and a priest under an umbrella in gilt, copper and shakudo takazogan, menuki formed as a bird, iron kozuka with fern fronds in gilt and shibuichi zogan, accompanied by an origami by Hakusui (2)
