Engraved map of Fabriano on a single Royal sheet, 413 x 550mm (engraving 405 x 522mm). Title set in a scrolled ribbon, the city and its walls with surrounding fields, inset dedication and legend surmounted with the arms of the dedicatee, Camillo Campiglia, arms of Fabriano, arms of Urban VII, Maffeo Barberini. (Trimmed along lower edge to plate mark.)
A fine clear impression of Fabriano by the well-known Pisan sculptor and architect, Michele Butti. Butti, is know today for his building of San Medrado in Arceveia (1634), and this would appear to have been one of his early cartographical project. Greuter was a cartographer, astronomer, globemaker, typecutter, engraver and artist. Watermark star in a shield. Not in Tooley.
