The gorge case with porcelain panels to sides and top, each with royal blue ground and gilt-bordered and jewelled central reserves, those to the sides depicting couples in 18th century costume, the top panel with birds beside a nest, the dial also with floral reserves within gilt and jewelled borders, retail signature in ring to the outside of the Roman chapter ring OLLIVANT & BOTSFORD PARIS & MANCHESTER, blued moon hands, with a swallow painted to the centre, silvered lever platform to bimetallic balance, strike/repeat on bell to backplate stamped 1590; case re-gilt
