A large parcel-gilt pan-Slavic Samovar, Bowl and Tray
marked Ovchinnikov with Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1879
Shaped tapering cylindrical, chased and engraved to simulate a wooden cask, on domed base and four oblong feet, with openwork neck, the front of the body with crowned cypher within lozenge cartouche above an applied tap in the shape of a cockerel's head with feathered neck and mother-of-pearl horse-head finial, the sides with geometric scroll handles with cockerel lower terminals, the top and bottom of the body with openwork pelmet, the slightly domed top with two cube finials supporting a shaped funnel with spreading neck, the domed cover with horse-head finial, the shaped circular bowl and shaped rectangular tray with wood-simulation engraved decoration, fully marked
