AN UNUSUAL AMBER-GLAZED RED POTTERY FIGURE OF A HORSE
Late Eastern Han Dynasty
The stocky horse shown standing foursquare with head facing forward and simply detailed with finger-impressed nostrils and indentations above the cursorily carved eyes, the harness indicated by incised lines, the ears pricked upright either side of the cropped mane and the docked tail raised, covered with a dark amber glaze falling irregularly down the legs
