Decorated with amorous figures and monkeys, the mounted rim engraved with scrolling foliage, the foot rim pierced and engraved with leaves and set with cabochon rubies

Current scholarship leans towards the workshops enamelling Saxon glass of the same period as the source for the decoration on the present teabowl and away from the traditional attribution to the Meissen painter Conrad Hunger.
