A Regency mahogany and brass-mounted quarter-chiming bracket clock, first quarter 19th century
The case with ball finials to a waisted pediment with brass fret panels, above breakarch top with conforming finials to the angles, with handles to the sides above arched brass fishscale sound frets, with brass stop-fluted pilasters to the front angles and fielded panels below the dial, a further recessed panel to the front mounted with a brass plaque inscribed with Latin motto, on rectangular base with part-fluted ball feet, the white-painted dial with Roman chapters and signed DENT LONDON 1182, strike/silent above XII (dial re-touched), with quatrefoil fret panel to the rear door, the movement encased within a wooden frame and with twin fusees and anchor escapement, with hour strike and quarter chimes on nine nested bells via nine hammers, with repeat signature to the backplate with pendulum holdfast
